Pei Xu, University of Kentucky
De Liu, University of Kentucky
The proposed project studies the patterns of collaborations in open source software (OSS) social networks. The goal of this project is to examine the relationship between the network position of OSS developers and the success of the project they work on, as measured by survival, livelihood, impact, and other variables. The proposed study will draw upon social capital literature and social exchange theory and apply social network analysis to OSS networks.
