A study of open source project success with regards to user acceptance and diffusion into developer communities
Kocak Ozcan, University of Akron
The general scope of the research is to identify the conditions under which open source projects are successful. We approach project success more from the standpoint of eventual user acceptance and diffusion into the various developer communities. The project will examine the impact of project and methodology related factors on project or OSS initiative success. These include: team size, development frequency, extent and type of methodology, number of downloads, user ratings, communication methods used by developers, and testing methodologies.
